About Rogers Music!
Jack Rogers, purveyor of Rogers Music, learned to play guitar at age 10. He soon took up the fiddle and spent time
after high school playing coffeehouses in the Dallas area. In the early 1970s, he left college behind to pursue
music in Austin, joining in with Marcia Ball's Freda and the Firedogs and later teaming up with Willie Nelson and
Jerry Jeff Walker at the Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos.
Jack opened the Mercer Street store in Dripping Springs to offer an authentic music shop and studio space for his
students and customers. As a second-generation European guild apprentice, Jack offers stringed instrument
service and repair.
Jack prefers pickin' to paperwork, and his music is often heard on the streets of downtown Dripping Springs.
Folks are welcome to stop by to listen to or join in on the front porch jam sessions. You can also hear Jack
playing with his wife, Marymichael, and son, John. Together they make up The Rogers Family, an eclectic group
that plays a blend of gospel, folk, and bluegrass. With a mission to make the world a better place, Jack and his family travel to retreats, revivals, and small rural churches to lift up others through music.
